Keto Breakfast Sandwich

There is no need to used bread to make a breakfast sandwich thanks to the recipe from Key For Keto 30 day diet plan.

I made this for brunch. I could not find sausage patties in the local store so I made my own patties using sausage meat. I simply shaped using a cookie cutter and voila! sausage patties. I used the George Foreman Grill to cook this recipe all at the same time. The grill side I used for the sausage patties, and the smooth side I used for frying the eggs. I used a spray of cooking oil on the cookie cutter and the grill. I will now only ever fry my eggs in a cookie cutter to gain the most instagram-worthy egg dishes.

Why do I have to avoid bread on keto?

Bread, being high in carbs is one of the worst things you can eat on a keto diet as it kicks you out of ketosis and make it harder to lose weight. If you do manage to find a low-carb bread, its still going to contain more carbs than protein or fat which is what we need here. Another reason bread is bad for you on keto is that it’s often loaded with hidden sugar, and unhealty ingredients like trans-fats which can cause health problems and weight gain.

Keto is basically a full English breakfast

Sausage, bacon and eggs encompass your life if you are following a keto lifestyle. I think you can eat as much as you want of these foods as they are so keto-friendly, full of protein and good fat.

Avocado is a super-duper food

The nutrient-rich avocado has long been considered a superfood. This delicious fruit is loaded with healthy fats that can help protect your heart, promote weight loss, and aid in the absorption of other nutrients. Some studies have also shown that eating avocados may help prevent certain types of cancer, such as skin cancer and prostate cancer. Avocados are also rich in fiber and vitamins C, K, E, and B6.

What we think

“I really adored this breakfast. I love avocados, sausage and eggs, and using the sausage patty as bread is ingenious. However, the recipe was for 3 people which seemed odd so my husband and I ended up eating 1 and ½ each. We didn’t use the optional hot sauce as it was tasty enough with the ingredients listed. A well-deserved 5 out of 5.”
