Garlic Shrimp
This is a very simple recipe, perfect after a long week. Bonus - it fills the house with a heavenly garlic scent.
At the weekend, I watched the iconic movie Forrest Gump and it got my tastebuds hungry for shrimp and shrimp keto-style!
Shrimp has been an iconic part of Forrest Gump’s character since he first appeared on the big screen in 1994. His famous line “My Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates; you never know what you’re gonna get,” reflects his whimsical attitude towards life and his enthusiasm for shrimp. From then on, Forrest’s love for shrimp has been a running gag in the movie and beyond. Forrest became so obsessed with his beloved oceanic crustaceans that he even opened his own successful shrimping business, aptly named “Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.” He quickly gained recognition as a great entrepreneur and set off to make a name for himself in the shrimping industry. His business was so successful that the brand soon expanded to become a chain of restaurants with locations all over the world.
Forrest’s shrimp obsession has become part of popular culture and continues to be referenced today. Whether it is through references on television shows, memes or even merchandise, Forrest Gump’s everlasting love for shrimp never fails to capture the hearts of audiences. It is no wonder that he has held onto his shrimping obsession for more than 25 years!
What is a substitute for red pepper flakes?
Paprika! Red pepper flakes are a popular spice used in many dishes. They come from dried and crushed red chili peppers, usually of the cayenne or jalapeno variety. Red pepper flakes can add a subtle flavour to mild dishes, such as scrambled eggs and pasta, or give an intense kick to spicier dishes like chili and stir-fries. They’re also a popular topping for pizza and other Italian dishes. Red pepper flakes are usually added to food after it has been cooked, but some recipes call for them to be added during the cooking process as well. To adjust the amount of heat in your dish, simply add more or less red pepper flakes depending on your desired spice level. Be warned – a little goes a long way!
Why can I have so much ghee on keto?
Ghee is a great source of fat for those on a keto diet as it’s packed with healthy monounsaturated and saturated fats. It also contains some beneficial fatty acids, such as butyric acid, which can help to reduce inflammation in the body. Because ghee is made from butter that has had its milk solids removed, it contains far less dairy than butter does. This makes it easier for those with a dairy intolerance to consume, and can help to lessen the burden of some of the digestive issues that come along with keto diets, such as constipation. Ghee is also incredibly rich in vitamins A, E, and K2, which are all important components of a healthy diet. Furthermore, because ghee has a high smoke point, it can be used for sautéing and frying without breaking down into potentially harmful compounds. All in all, ghee is an incredibly versatile and nutritious fat source that can help make sticking to the keto diet easier and healthier!
