This keto steak is served with delicious keto-friendly blue cheese sauce that can also be used with chicken or pasta.

Ingredients

  • 18 oz filet mignon (cut into thin steaks)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 0.5 cup shredded onion
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 5.25 oz cubed blue cheese
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Take a grill pan and heat it at high temperature.
  2. Season the filet mignon steaks with some salt and black pepper.
  3. Cook the steaks in the grill pan until they begin to firm and become hot and pinkish in the center, approximately 4 minutes on each side if you prefer medium-done steaks. When they are done, put them aside.
  4. Mix the olive oil with the butter in another pan over medium high heat and let the butter melt; then add the onion.
  5. Cook and stir for about 5-7 min. until it’s browned.
  6. Add the heavy cream, the blue cheese, garlic, onion, nutmeg, and some black pepper.
  7. Reduce the heat to medium low, and continue stirring for about 3-5 more min. until the cheese is completely melted.
  8. Add some water to thin (if necessary).
  9. Pour the sauce over the steaks.
